Engagement Session | Minneapolis Institute of Art

Did you know you could have this feel of an engagement session in Minneapolis? It might feel more like the street of New York than Minneapolis, which is exactly what we were going for! Jil really loved the idea of the large white columns and big, cascading staircase. She brought along a classy white handbag to elevate the look with her white engagement photo dress. Isaiah did half the session wearing his suit coat, and half in just the crisp white shirt, which tied together their skin tones extremely well with their setting.

Needless to say, it IS possible to have and “city-vibe” engagement session in Minneapolis, you just have to know where to go!

Classy Engagement Photoshoot Tips:

  1. Wear a more elevated outfit/look than what you’re used to. It will enhance your confidence being all dressed up in front of the camera!
  2. Bring an accessory: A handbag, a champagne pop, a tasteful jacket you can wear or hold, etc… these all add interest and a “lifestyle” touch to your photos.
  3. If you’re looking for location ideas for a photoshoot like this one in the Minneapolis area, you could try the following spots: Minneapolis Institute of Art (location of the pictured shoot), Union Depot in St. Paul, North Loop, St. Anthony Main, or the Landmark Center.
